Fame

Fame

A Poem by Jaybee23

FAME

Fame has always been, It's nothing new;

lurking, festering, deep inside;

Inside me, inside you, and the others too.

You claim the fame won't change you,

but look, it's chained you, marked and disdained you.

Held you captive, tribute,

for your demons that you solemnly refute.

There's no dispute; It's no surprise, your demise.

You're desire, the fire, gone, vaporized.

Sliver and gold fill your eyes.

Fame has all but materialized.

You search and search for something to make you whole.

Not even an ocean of bottles, a pit full of models,

cars with their throttles; could fill that aching hole.

You've gone astray,

found a new friend.

Me and you, the end;

Fame is here to stay.
