halloween

A Poem by jennifer little

                                caramel apples,
                               candy corn,
                              chocolate candy,
                            sweet smells coming from everywhere,
can you guess what time of year it is?
                          costumes hanging in the stores,
                          candy buckets,
                         creepy pumpkins,
                         goblins, and ghouls,
oh i wonder what time of year it is,
                          can you guess?
                          not yet,
                        zombies,
                        witches,
                        demons,
                      and angels,
oh i know it must be halloween

I enjoyed your poem and the questioning of the reader throughout.
Halloween is one of my favourite days/nights of the year and did you know that many of the activities still performed today (dressing up and bobbing for apples etc) go back to the Celtic festival of Samhain, a time when offerings were left out to appease ghosts and visiting mischievous spirits.

All the best.

Lathen.
