Depression Kills

A poem about someone suffering from depression.

She paints a smile, upon her face 

to hide the pain.

No one knows, what she feels 

inside her head.

She says she's fine, even though 

she wants to scream.

People walk by, never knowing she 

is feeling dread.

She sits quiet, each day at lunch 

and no one cares.  

Her mom is gone, her kids are grown

and she's alone.

Her husband try's, to show his love 

the best way he can.

But she's so tired, she's finally given up

and ready to go home.

They paint a smile, upon her face 

to hide her death.

I know right. I deleted the other comment. Sorry. Didn't want to offend people. But to make a statement, yes depression is a silent killer. I have suffered from it, as well as some close friends and family. Medicines are good, but unless you get to the root of the real problem, they can only treat part of the issue.

I don't. We have made such progress by being able to talk to therapists and telling them things that we can't tell others, without fear of judgement.

i have ptsd,but i don`t do any meds,talked to therapist a few times all they want to do is drug you up,so i stopped a couple years ago

my mother had PTSD. She had to take meds for it.

i beat up my furniture now and then,lol broke a couple lamp shades
