A Waiting NationA Poem by JennyWe cry and pray for change But never say what should stay the same Waiting for someone who will disengage Someone who feels our rage
And then a man stands One with promise in his hands Will he serve the way we say? Or find a way to a different place? Will he upset what used to be? Wreak havoc in our city streets Bring barren to the countryside and ruin as wide as the sky He will upset our complacency. This change may feel like loss But will it be the battle or the war? That’s for you to explore But, I implore you to remember the next time you wish for more Think of what could be in store if you don't think before YOU don’t stand and let someone give you the backhand -J © 2017 JennyFeatured Review
