Last Dance

Last Dance

A Poem by jusjen

When my sins are forsaken

a sinner’s healed bruise

recovers from the brightness

inspired by God’s tune

Like releasing burdens crutch

I’m freed from the cage

pulling up the anchor

the dance stops on stage

Beautiful memories in motion

my own lullaby

a life filled with curses

has made this woman cry

Memories of detachment

with stage fright ending show

facing her tomorrow

her hands release the pole

A serenade, a second chance

between the lows and highs

life and sin embroil

her old dance has now died

Moods of many lovers

from her soul she now writes

on her empty pages

to get her through the night

You fall off the rhyme scheme of A B C B in a few places, but have a great start. I like to experiment with form myself, it sometimes strengthens the rhyme scheme and rhymes as well as taking me in new directions. The personal experience with God can be both powerful and unique you seemed to have achieved that.

I write from my heart. I follow my instinct. I live impulsively. I never feel like my feet are firmly grounded as I am a free spirit. I am a very intuitive person, sometimes to the point, it hurts me... more..
