Help Me PleaseA Poem by jennpennA poem in 3 parts, coming from a person in distress(A cry for) Help! The comfort of love The warmness of hugs The cold biting winter When your hugs are so bitter You reached out so far Your fingers will reach And cling to the people Who might want to teach They’ve seen it before It’s a regular flaw To seek out some comfort To drink out of a straw They want you to be better Can you do that for them? Does it even matter? That you cannot swim You’re drowning in doubt Skeptical of assistance Though you wave at the lifeguard There’s no need for dramatics You do not scream help It takes a few minutes For you to suck in the water And fill up your lungs And kill you Oops The lifeguard finally looks down Rocking (The Beat) I’m too into the beat It swims through my body I’m lost in this groove I can’t stop this rocking Going back and forth Some unnatural pattern Looking for comfort In an impossible fashion I need to be steady You think to yourself As you bob to the music That keeps your mind running The beat of your life Means that you are alive Blood pumps through you It moves and you sway The world twirls around you Like you’re spinning too fast And why whouldn’t you move You’re caught up in quicksand And you can’t stop your motion You’re sinking in it now You never stopped struggling Against all the tides It’s the end of the line The Scoop The old Russian lady Asked me these questions And I recited my story As I have to the presses I’m famous now With my problems here lately I’m not functioning right So they have to sedate me I slept through the day The medicine took me I was panicked and scared So I thought it would soothe me It was a bad choice No works gotten done My celebrity’s spread Through the barrel of a gun But no that’s not me The’ve asked it before That’s not part of my story What it is hurts me more © 2013 jennpenn |
