SheA Poem by Jennifer M. Pennington
She wraps her arms around my waist
The way she did when she was loved The way she did when she wanted love. The way she did when she loved And wanted you to know... I feel a smile cross her face As it presses into my skin I hold her hands in mine and I'd swear I was in heaven She dances barefoot in the grass She doesn't care who's watching She wears fairy wings upon her back She paints her face and now she's smiling She's the girl for me She's the one She's the girl in me She was never gone She blows the fuzz off dandelions She loves the babies breath Her favorite flower is roses But she loves anything red Lavender's her favorite color She figured it out coloring Easter eggs She changes her mind always She never stays the same She dances barefoot in the grass She doesn't care who's watching She wears fairy wings upon her back She paints her face and now she's smiling She's the girl for me She's the one She's the girl in me She was never gone She dances in her undies to a song On the radio She headbangs and sings in a hairbrush lip synching words she doesn't know Her windows are wide open She feels the afternoon breeze The world outside is buzzing Shes high on feeling free She has a husband now A business of her own She's got a car in the driveway Of her beautiful home But she'll always dance in the grass While wearing wings upon her back She don't care who's watching.... She never did and thats a fact She'll put on a show Not for you but for the earth Because within her heart she'll always know That that is where she will return She's the girl She's the one She is me She'll never be undone © 2015 Jennifer M.
