Feminessence

Feminessence

A Poem by Jennifer M. Pennington

She is picnics & playtime
Philanthropy & Self Care
Adventure & Coziness
The salted ocean air
She is the scent of Summertime
that perfumes her mind with nostalgia
She is bliss
Sheer, irrepressible, bliss.
She is life, untethered.
Her feminessence, unapologetic & completely unleashed.

She is the moment between wearing a bra
...and taking it off.
She is the moment upon awakening
Before coffee wakes her up
She is the sunlight through the window
That beckons her to explore
She is the hunger in every belly
That endlessly craves more

She is the sexual priestess
Awakening the world to its orgasmic bliss
She is the tender lover
All are enchanted by the words, like butterfly kisses, that freely leave her lips
She is the friend
Who welcomes all with a hearty laugh
She is life untethered
Her feminessence, unapologetic & completely unleashed.

She is complete nudity, without the need to sexualize.
She is the dream come true in the flesh
...while others merely fantasize
She is greatness, in humble human flesh
She is ecstatic dance, attuned to the earths musical vibration
She is a Goddess, but she'll never boast this truth.
She is life untethered
Her feminessence, unleashed.

Celebrate her.
Celebrate YOU.
Celebrate...just because

It's what she would do.

Jennifer, First order of business: Hello 'neighbor!' I live in Indiana, PA; I'm not sure where Canadensis is, but I will look on a map just to satisfy my own cat-like curiosity. Now the poem: When I started reading it I thought, "Well, this is a pretty straightforward piece about the natural wonders associated with summer." But as I read further it started to appear more like a mission statement, your philosophy of life and "Feminessence." (Great word, your own?) I read your profile, and while I can't profess to understand everything your vocation entails, it certainly sounds like your true mission is helping others, and there is never anything wrong with that. I haven't read your review of my piece yet, I wanted to visit your page first. I have it bookmarked and am looking forward to reading more of your work. take care...dan
