Dread

Dread

A Poem by Jenni Marie

Innocence lost at a young age
Turmoil, despair, depression;
all in a rage.
How do you breathe
when it hurts to inhale?
How do you love
when you heart feels impailed?
Uncomfortable in your own skin
Itching for a new life to begin.
Struggling to stay above
Keeping people at a distance; no love.
Let them in your soul begs
But the very thought
fills your heart with dread.
