Rumplestiltskin for a New Generation by JENN WEBSTERA Story by Jennifer WebsterThis is a retelling of a certain fairy tale, but with a twist...
There once was a beautiful royal princess who lived with her parents, the royal king & queen, in the palace in the royal kingdom; one day, a wandering stranger came into the royal palace and made a bet with the royal king that if his daughter can work in his warehouse for a week, then he would reward him with money as well as her hand in marriage. The royal king agreed to this deal, and the very next day, the royal princess was locked in the tower where the stranger lives.
The princess was given straw by this stranger, and told her that if she could weave it into gold, then she could be his forever! Then the stranger left, and the royal princess was all alone, not ever knowing what she would do with all of that straw. Thus, she began to cry; but then, an elf-like stranger appeared; he tells her that his name was Rumplestiltskin and that he would help the poor royal princess with her problem by weaving the straw into gold, but he orders her that she must not tell anyone that he did this. The princess agreed, and then the elf-like being began to use his magic to weave the straw into gold, and it became as beautiful as ever! The wandering stranger returned to find that the straw had turned into gold so fast, and he was happy; he took the gold, and then just ran away! The royal princess was then all alone. But just then, good old Rumplestiltskin appeared, and asked that she would like to go out with him on a date; she agreed. And so, it was with that that the royal princess and Rumplestiltskin were together; the elf-like creature tells the royal princess that she had never seen a most beautiful person in his life before and that he wishes that there were more people who are human like him. Rumplestiltskin then told the princess that he loves her with all of his heart so very much, and that it would make him so very happy if she would kiss him. The princess would then explain to Rumplestiltskin that she would have to think about it. Later that night, the royal king and queen gave a dinner, and their daughter, the royal princess, invited Rumplestiltskin to be her guest. After having dinner together, the creature asked her once more that if she really loved him, she would give him a kiss; “I just don’t know about this, Rumplestiltskin,” the royal princess replied, and her father, the royal king, answered, “Why don’t you give this poor creature a try, dear daughter? I believe that he has been through so much in his lifetime. The least that you could do is give your love to him.” At first, the royal princess was scared; but then, she gathered all of the courage that she could muster, and finally gave Rumplestiltskin a kiss! And then, all of a sudden, something wonderfully magical happened: Rumplestiltskin was no more: He had been transformed into a very handsome prince! And a royal prince at that! The royal prince got down on his knees and told the royal princess that he had been under a spell by a witch because she was so very jealous of him. He then told her that the only way to break the spell was for a beautiful woman to show her love for him by giving him the very first kiss of real true love, and that was what the royal princess had done! And so, the royal prince asked the royal princess for her hand in marriage, which she accepts; meanwhile, the royal king found out that the stranger was a corrupt thief, who only wanted to marry his daughter for his money! So he had him put in jail for a long time. A few days later, there was a royal wedding ceremony between the royal prince and princess, who would one day take after their elders and become the royal king and queen of the royal kingdom; They lived happily all of their lives long. © 2021 Jenn Webster © 2021 Jennifer WebsterAuthor's Note
