The Ship Builder by JENN WEBSTERA Story by Jennifer WebsterSometimes it is a whole lot better as well as beautiful to accept things just as they are... Joey’s
father was a master builder at everything; he would build bikes, mini cars, and
even shelves for the rooms of the house! Other times, he would like to create
his own Christmas decorations, and he would even create costumes for Halloween… But one day, Joey went to his father and asked him a simple request: that he would build a ship for him. He gave him a model kit box that shows how to make a model ship. Joey’s father opened the box and loads of pieces were there to create a ship. Of course, the only problem being is that Joey’s father does not know, at least yet, how to build a model ship… So he decided to go to the computer and looked up the model number for the ship model kit, in which he did. He looked up at the instructions on how to build the model ship the very right way, and with those instructions, he felt that he probably would not have any trouble building this model ship…that is, until he forgot about having glue to glue the pieces in! So,
Joey’s father ran to the craft store, and got the glue, as well at the other
tools that he might need to build his son’s model ship. So when he got home,
Joey and his dad got to work on building that model ship… Building models such as a ship would indeed take some time and effort, and indeed, Joey and his father have put up a lot of time and effort in putting those pieces together. A little screw-in here, a little bit of glue there. Those two have worked all throughout those two days to put something like this together… And then, a few days later, it was finally finished: That beautiful model ship that they had been working on for the past few days. Although the finished product was not as perfect as they had wanted it to be, they accepted it just as it is. It is so very interesting to think, with so much in the
world going on as it is right now, we can accept things just as they are; the
same goes for people everywhere. It does not matter if you are of race,
religion or of national origin: We accept people just as they are, and that
they are friends. © 2020 Jennifer WebsterAuthor's Note
