A Brand-New Year Dawns…A Story by Jennifer WebsterMy first new Writer's Cafe piece of the new year is about the dawning of a new year and what kind of possibilities it holds for me...
And so, a new year has
begun, and with the dawning of this new year, comes a chock-full of
opportunities for me to explore as a writer. What kinds of things
could/would/should I write this year, I ask? Well, as the saying goes, anything
is possible…
Every year whenever a new year starts, people begin to think about new things that they would like to try, as well as trying to give up any bad habit that they had picked up throughout the old year. The beginning of this new year, for me, means a new beginning, a fresh new start to whatever I want to do in my life. This past year has not been a perfect one for me, even though the first half of it was OK. However, I am hoping that in the new year, things would be a whole lot better. But I just don’t know; every year is not perfect, and I am thinking that things would be the same in the new year just as well as the old year. But if everyone tries to work together for good and to help each other and to just make friends instead of enemies, then I think that the new year would be as perfect as anything. After all, if you really and truly want to have a good year, you have just got to be kind. Now, as for myself, there happens to be something that I would like to
try for the first 14 days of the new year, if not the first 30 days: Write
every day! Yes, that’s write, er, right: Write every day for the first 14 days
of the new year which happens to be 2020. I may not expect to get any results
from this little challenge, but should I follow through with writing every day
for 14 days, except Sundays, then I think it would be worth all the pressures
in the world.
And there are some things that I like to set goals on, such as: Doing another new eBook, another new Wattpad story, and yes, a new website! What?! You say that I shall be having my own website in January?! I cannot say any much more except for this: Stay tuned… And now, if you would excuse me, I must go now and make writing goals for the new year, and hopefully beyond. Here’s to a bright, new year filled to the brim with good luck, good cheer, and so very full of happiness. With love-JW © 2020 Jennifer Webster |
