during three years of living without.A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)
when words fail
i stretch my fingers out to clasp them close to spread their comfort across my pale skin across the blue eyed flash you gave me eyes close and i imagine the timbre of your laugh it feels brittle elusive to my memories sepia-tinged by the lack of its presence for far too many years now i'm at a crossroads, now where there is a choice presented in which reality i wish to follow the one in which you were, or my current state, where if it weren't for my existence, i'd think you never were.
