recalcitrant visitor.

recalcitrant visitor.

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

tiny will o' the wisp
of a girl,
shambling stumbledown of a figure
draped in rags
tresses of brambles and coxcomb colouring
she sits by a fire
made from the scraps of words
she's loved and lost
and forgotten how to care for
pixie smile
and eyes of wild
hickory leaves
inhabits my mind
and demands to be written

she refuses to offer her story though
preferring the one she thinks i can write
she says
after all, it's one i know already

Sometimes there are certain stories, certain quirks we want to write about..they could be certain fragments of our own self that we want to amplify into a character..but we simply don't know how best we can write about them..days pass by but somehow the character in our head does not seem to etch itself on paper.

So beautiful this short poem. The language was very good. I had to read a few times. Flowed like a nursery rhyme. Complete poem is a amazing. A excellent poem.

The story just comes together through multiple peices of writing, but the story does get written. The description of the girl was fantastic, I am sure she hasn't lost, there is always love waiting in the wings....the show must go on. Great write.

sometimes, the story we write is more gilded and hopeful than the one we feel and know...

I always like that little snap of tail you give at the end of your writing ~

loving and losing is what we do on the way to love...oh, will o' the wisp child, the wonderful person you grew up to be, with eyes of wild hickory leaves, is a maker of word fires with aching curves
