between the layers of lacquer.

between the layers of lacquer.

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

between the layers of lacquer
lies the truth
(and perhaps a lie or two)
carefully sealed in amber
to keep them all dormant,
the impending implosion defused
and under that
a modge podge
of brightly coloured fabric
chosen for its
distinctly distracting
properties
under which
you might find
should you care
to continue,
a heart concealed

"layers of lacquer" love that.

yes. I am all laquered up myself. sealed. protected. treated to keep away anything that might harm or help me. and then the distractions...to throw the hounds off the scent. and beneath it all...there is a treasure. beautiful piece of writing.

a lot was revealed in a description of how one might conceal the heart. the heart is the core, but I think there's a lot of us in those other layers, too.

fantastic poem. AGAIN!

Great images. I loved the ambiguity swimming in this piece.

Perhaps it's time I peeked under the duvet of words. ;)

It sucks that you would have to tell a significant other or good friend that this is the case when it so obvious to all who attend your concerts. Your colors shine brightly and your writing even more so.

"Impending Implosion, modge podge, distinctly distracting" -- (untangling my tongue)
What a whirlwind of fun that ends with the sweetest discovery.
