misdirected anger.

misdirected anger.

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)
"

not pithy or even artistic, just a purge...

"
today i stomped on a fallen branch
just to hear it snap
the satisfying crunchcrack
against the arch of my foot
appeasing my inner blood lust
temporarily

you don't know me
you predatory foulness
but i know you

and i'm watching

Stephen King claims that we all have a "carnivorous instinct" that calls on us to release our true nature. Our true natures include those instincts for survival including "our blood lust." His reasoning is that we all have the "subterranean river running beneath our minds". It is that which keeps control of those instincts in us but the "alligators," the tendencies, want to be released, like carnivorous animals. They want us to act on our carnivorous instincts. Since we all have these tendencies there has to be a way to pacify them to keep them from coming out. So he reasons that as long as these "alligators" are fed then there would be no harm done to anyone. He proposes that seeing horror movies is a way that we "feed the alligators".

Reading this poem brought to mind that bit of information.

It's like listening to the prey / victim soon-to-be showing the hunters that the stalked one won't take any craps, no matter what...

Other than that, it's pretty good tho, very nice "not threatening, just stating the fact" piece you've written there...

Ed's review made me laugh..
I know you might hate what i am about to do in midst of a review..but *leaps from my seat and hugs...well i just read that this is a purge and if this is so,i do want to ask what's wrong..
That apart, this is different, flying with rage to the core.I love the metaphor and also the line 'appeasing my inner blood lust'..trust me everyone has this inner blood lust, not all of us know how to name this.It was just last week i was throwing the kitchen utensils here and there...course i was alone though :)

I like how... direct and to the point this was. It's so... in-your-face, which I really like.
