hearts of palm.A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)today i followed the tributaries embedded in my skin, played alan quartermain with native guides climbed pale hued jungle chasms and forded fleshtoned streams filled with voracious crocodiles whose bite delivers venoms of fear and foetid ponds chock full of selfdoubtpirhanas (their name saying all you need know of them) i climbed and clambered fought my way through countless boobytraps and gunky mires all just to be here with you, today i have a treasure map, you see, that leaves off with an arrow showing me where the next map lies hold up your hand see where my rivers end, yours begin? that is where the adventure goes next so can't you come out to play? after all, you know your own topography far better than i do at least.. for now..
