anything
quite
as beautiful as
the smell of summer rain?

It is a beautiful fragrance isn't it Jennie? Akin to evaporated tears of ocean swells, and waterfalls of rainbow skies and all things, evergreen.
For some reason, your title reminded me of my favorite summertime pastime of spitting cherry pits out the windows as I drive down the country roads.
Very nicely done.

The answer to your question is: no.
We don't get much of it here in the desert.
Good job, my friend.

This poem is almost too appealing, here you are fusing the experience of a walk by riverside with the natural, inhaling the spirit of your day through the air after a rain. Using your senses - you write classically like nature poets do - they are true the way I read their poem; the way is right, and the poem convinced me. I was soothed by your words; this was like a drunken complacency of beauty.
