A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)
"

one of a series of older poems i'll be adding here..

"
sun warms my skin

and i feel your smile,

a trace of laughter in my ear.

the sore tooth ache of you

fills my mind;

the memories

not strong enough

to hold you

as tears follow

the well worn path

to my chin.

you're short poems hold so damn much!

I'm still high on the thrill of Wordlust and the spare but very evocative sensuosity of Yes, the first of which is troubadouresque, the second of which is intensely intimate. The mode here is sombre. I don't think it's as strong as the other two, but that's just because the others are so positive. This is still a lovely little poem for me because of the lines 4-5 and the image of the tears motion, which serves to take the mood down also. Very effective. But of these three reads I think Yes is the strongest. It's the words you don't use that give your poems their litheness. No fat on a Jenniewren poem.

Beautiful. As if a crater of depth to a comet-impacted swell. I truly adore this one!
