Quintessence (A Collaboration)

written with my friend alan p. kelly - we've written 3 in total together and this one is my favourite i think...

we occupy a space

outside

the boxed epidermis

in a name

stripped down to the quintessence

where

atmosphere

comes to within a hairsbreadth

of perfection

this dark energy that swirls

the stars

pushing our known universe

outwards, faster every moment


yet for all the depth
and breadth
and width
and speed..


this astral quintessence

never pushes

past

the nebulous boundaries

of our conjoined hearts
