They Call This Healing In Progress?

They Call This Healing In Progress?

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

the resoluteness of you,

gone,

holds me in stunned disbelief.

i call you with wrenching heart cries

but can sense no response from you

for the first time ever.

the void you filled,

a ragged hole i poke

to remind myself of where you

used to be...

now relying on sepia toned

shutter-click memories

to sustain me.

Achingly sad. We spend our lives wondering about, searching for, discovering loves and then mourning their loss. But then we go on looking for more without respite. 'The resoluteness of you' is the best line for me. It as if you never quite expected it to come to this, but lo, it has. Gone. Pfff. Now what? And so it goes. Life's endless drama of searching, having, losing, searching. Do we ever truly posses another? We are taken from them. Or they leave us. Is love only truly made poerfect in children, I wonder? I don't know. And if it is the joke is on us as they grow up and leave us as they, in their turn, go off in pursuit of ... the L word.

Sad as it is, this is a very straight forward tale of a relationship gone awry. I liked the flow of this poem, and as always you have done a great job of choosing your words carefully. It is obvious in your work, that you take time to consider the best way to phrase each of the stanzas( I think that is the correct terminology). The depth and imagination of this poem is wonderful. Very nice.....albeit, very sad.

God how emotional this is..you have to imagine every word and feel them to know what they tell
Now you are gone,I am stunned not believing..I call you and my heart cries
The void you filled I poke all time, reminds me of you,how you used to be
Now all I live on memories of you to sustain me..so I can live without you
So lovely and perfect
lovely write..
