the great wallenda.

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

Loving you
Is a knife edge balancing act:

Barefoot, and shivering
Each time the blade slices in
A little more

Snicking away
A little more
With each misstep...

Watching helplessly
As my heart drains
In whisper-thin droplets
Over your waiting palms

The visions haunt me. It hurts even more to know that the only way to maintain equilibrium is to endure more pain. I'm afraid to imagine what abyss we will fall into by giving up. Powerful work.

love is a balancing act, much like writing poetry...Ferlinghetti wrote about the poet being an
acrobat who performs above the heads of his audience...but balances there precariously.

We love so much and fear so much that we would misstep find ourselves with a draining heart.
