corrosive.

corrosive.

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

i pour the silences
into a paper cup
and watch the amber
nothingness
dissolve the wax protecting
first the paper
and then my fingers
cradling it

silence can be explosive and corrosive, and sometimes comfortable...
but here...it is not the silence of two people comfortable together, it feels like that silence when the other is gone..
i felt this when i lost a best friend years ago to a fire...everything dissolved to nothingness.
