Boots

Boots

A Poem by Jennie Love

in my canvas boots
i stay kicking dirt
all over this land.
lay down with me
on the grass
touched with the tears of the morning mist.
you will hear my heart
it beats loud and strong
like me
fidgeting fingers and scatterbrained
focused i am for the moment
forever dancing my way to a new beginning
never leaving significance behind
closed doors do not exist in my house
peer into my window
i can show you sorrow
teardrops saved in a pickle jar
voyage alongside me
open your ears to a tale of a girl
laugh with me
louder than ever before
close your eyes
listen to your blissful breath
hold my hand..

Tighter. Now,

let me save your soul.
