"Honey!" I heard my step-mom cry. Even though she's Michael's mom, and I've made it clear I don't see her as "mom," she still manages to shove me into the 'honey' category with Michael.
I trudged down the stairs alongside Michael, like the perfect, ordinary, loving family. "Don't forget to smile" he said as he nudged me, before he led me towards the back door.
"There you two are, oh Michael, Misty's going to eat you up!" his mom squealed in delight. "Oh, dear, take a picture of the kids"
She squished me in the middle of her and Michael as dad brought the camera to his eye. "Say cheese" he smiled and then a flash overtook my vision. Damn cameras.
"Abby, why are you wearing a T-shirt? It's a pool party, gosh you can be such a ditz sometimes" the ever annoying step mom fake laughed. I bet her name's fake too, she doesn't look like a Brandy.
"I guess I lost my swim suit" I shrugged, not interested in being scolded at.
"Oh, my, gosh, Abby!" Trixie's voice carried over to me.
I turned and saw my two best friends running over to me in the most skankiest swim wear of all swim wear. "Hey guys" I smiled and caught up with the drama of everyday life.
"Girl, what's up with your outfit?" Trixie laughed.
"And an even better question is, where's Michael?" Misty waggled her eyebrows.
"Right here, sweetheart" Michael wrapped his arms around her waist and started doing things that would not be considered PG-13. Trixie sent me a look, and we both started off toward a safer place by the pool.
"Abigail?" Mrs. Johnson's head peered over the fence.
"Yes ma'am?" I asked while crossing over to her.
"I have to go to the hospital, would you please look after the boys? I'm sorry to bother you, but this is really important"
"Of course I will" I said.
"Ooh, can I help?" Trixie asked. Oops, she probably shouldn't have said boys.
"Uhh, sure" Mrs. Johnson said hesitantly. She then disappears from behind the fence as we make our way to the Johnson's front door.
"Abigail!" Derrick and Max screamed in unison.
"Oh. My. Gosh. You're so cute!" Trixie squealed at Derrick. Derrick of course loved the attention, and whisked Trixie away. Oh well, more squeals for him.
"Wanna watch Spongebob with me?" Max asked.
"Of course I do" I smiled. I put Craig in his baby swing and positioned it towards the TV so he wouldn't fuss as much.

"Thank you so much dear" Mrs. Johnson said when she came home to a livingroom full of her kids watching Power Rangers.
"Mommy! Abigail let me pick what movie we got to watch because I'm the littlest!" Max beamed.
"That's really sweet of her, isn't it?" Mrs. Johnson smiled. "What do you say?"
"Thank you, Abigail" Max said and gave me a hug.
"That is so cute" Trixie squealed for the hundrenth time that evening.
"Anyways, we should get going" I motioned to the door for Trixie who was detaching Derrick away from her arm.
"Thank you again, Abigail, I don't know what I would've done without you" she had a sad smile on her face.
"I'm just across the fence, holler if you need me" I smiled back. I watched Trixie walk out the door, and hugged Derrick and Max before I headed that way as well.
"Don't be a stranger" Mrs. Johnson called before she disappeared in a hallway.
"I won't" I whispered as the two boys bounded up the stairs. I opened the front door to see Frank almost plowing me down.
He shoved a couple of books at my stomach, "I want it done by Friday"
What a d****e.
