Chapter TwoA Chapter by Jennika has a short attention span :PI had on blaack skinny jeans, a black turtleneck, and black combat boots. I grabbed my belt and put a few knives and a gun in it. I grabbed my dad's sword and slid it in the sheath on my back. I tied my hair into a ponytail and grabbed a wristband, two knives, and another gun. I stuck one gun in my right boot and one of the knives in my left. I rolled my right sleeve up, put the wristband on, and slid the knife in. I slipped a pair of tweezers, bandages, and liquid stitches in my belt and walked out to meet two male trainees similarly dressed like me and climbed up and into the deserted street of New York City. No signs of Drake, but we still had a few blocks to clear. We stealthily raced down the street and were about a yard away from the entrance when a van swerved around the corner with none other than Drake on top. He too was dressed in all black along with his goons. I dodged into the hospital with him on my tail. I tricked him by swerving left then dodging into a storage closet. His short wavy black hair was visible through the crack, and I knew he was going to find me. "Stones!" his deep voice boomed. I looked up, Bingo! I grabbed my emergency screwdriver and climbed the shelves. I could hear doors open and being slammed shut as he looked for me. My heart was pounding and there was sweat on my brow. I finally unscrewed the vent cover and hoisted myself up into it. I quickly replaced the cover and hurridley screwed two of the four screws caticorner from each other so it wouldn't fall. I heard the storage room's door open and slam as I began to quickly but quietly weave my way through this maze. I reached a deadend and dropped down into the corridor to hear talking on the floor above me. I entered the stairwell and was met with the cold menacing blue eyes that's kept me on the run all these years. "You really should stop running. Doesn't it get tiring after awhile?" I growled as I lunged for him. I caught him offguard and knocked him over the railing. I decided to tuck tail and run which gave me three flights headstart. I emerged out of the door and ran into the third door on the right. The teens looked shocked to see me, but I continued to unscrew the cover on the wall. "Put the weed down and get in" I said indicating the vent. There were five people who looked to be in their late teens, early twenties. One of the two girls spoke up. "Why should we?" "Because you'll be killed if you don't" This seemed to get their attention. Both the girl who spoke and the girl beside her had platinum blonde hair and blue eyes. Twins? The guy with short dark hair and green eyes helped the girls into the vent. He motioned for me to go next, but I glared at him. The smallest boy who appeared to be my age with dark brown hair that hung in his brown eyes went next. The next guy was paler than the other two, had shaggy black hair and really light brown eyes hastily followed. The bulky guy again gestured for me to get in, and I rolled my eyes. "Stones where are you?" I heard Drake call. Great, he just had to run out of doors. I shoved the annoying gy in and again screwed two of the four screws in. I pointed to the vent path in front of me, "This way" We were about halfway through the path when I heard one of Drake's minions say, "We checked everywhere except the vents" "Of course she'd use the advantage, that's why I couldn't find her. Come on" Drake fumed. My blood ran cold when they said they were going to check the vents, but I also wanted to laugh because Drake didn't remember the number one rule in school: Always expect the unexpected and use your advantages to the fullest. I opened another cover and jumped down, followed by my five companions. I ducked into the stairwell and ran into my trainees. One of the girls screamed, so I clamped my hand over her mouth. "You two take the girls and get out as fast as you can" I told my trainees who both had a firm grip over the girls' mouths. "What about us?" asked the annoying guy after they ran downstairs. "We'll be jumping out the window if we can't get to an exit" Just then one of Drake's goons ran in and the guys tensed. "Nice to see you again Jacob" I said sweetly. "Yeah, too bad Drake wants you dead, you really are the best" he said just as sweetly. I grabbed the knife from my boot and nailed him in the head. Three pair of eyes found their way to my face. I pulled the knife out and cleaned it on my former classmate's shirt. "Come on!" I said and opened the window in the corridor. I could tell they didn't want to, but they followed my lead as I jumped and landed with a thud. Three thuds later and we were climbing down the pothole. I was greeted by Silvia bringing me a plate of food. I greedily dug in as Silvia introduced us. The pale guy with shaggy black hair is Pete, the smaller brown haired guy is Shawn, and the green eyed guy is Ryan. The girls' names are Brandy and Lea who are cousins. "If ya'll don't want to be here, you better leave now because you won't get another chance" I warned. The two girls immediatley left. "So I guess you three are man enough?" They nodded in unison. "First things first, the dreaded rules" I start sarcastically, "I only have a couple so listen up. The first one, and seeing how guys tend to perfer to flirt with girls, is: Stay away from my sister. If you're homosexual then stay away from my brother" "What if we're bi?" Ryan asked. "Then stay away from both of them" "What about you?" he persisted. "Trust me, I'd make you regret it. Rule two, you'll be training all day until you're to the point of collapsing. Drake may still be looking for us here, and we need everyone to stay in shape. Rule three, do whatever you want so long as they abide by rules one and two" I ordered. "And if we don't obey the rules?" Ryan asked much to my annoyance. "Then I'll work you harder or kill you brutally" I said stonily. "So who's training us?" Pete asked. I looked over at Robert who shrugged. "I don't think Robert's up to it" Silvia inquired. "What? I'm fine" he argued. "No, Silvia and I'll train 'em" "Why?" he asked increduously. "Maybe next time you won't get shot" I growled. "You won't let that go will you?" he yelled. "Next time listen to me" I said calmly. He stormed out of the room. "Which urchin do I get?" Silvia asked. I shrugged, "We'll give you three the liberty of choosing who you want to train with, but all three of you can't have the same teacher" They stood still. "Don't worry about our feelings. I'm the meanest out of us if that helps you with your decision" Still no movement. "Which unlucky person or persons do I get?" I asked as I put my hands on my hips. Ryan and Shawn stepped foward simotaniously. "Okay, this way" I barked moving down the winding hall. © 2011 Jennika has a short attention span :PAuthor's Note
