Once knew

Once knew

A Poem by Jen

Laying here,
memories slip slowly,
through my hands,
My heart once knew,
a love,
but knows no more.
The smile, your smile,
the hug, your hug,
that enveloped me,
like an ocean,
sucking me in.
I know no other,
embrace, like the one
i once knew.
Your hand in mine,
fingers entwined,
a kiss,
on the back of my hand.
A song, our song,
playing on the radio.
That song still plays,
in my heart.
An ache,
no matter what i do,
never goes away.

A beautifully written poem. The word choice was very good and the slight repetition was great. Overall, it was a very good poem.
