How dare you

How dare you

A Poem by Jen

I can't fight

anymore,

there's no more love,

running

through my veins.

who am i

to stand here,

when there's nothing

left?

How dare you tell me,

you love me,

no more lies,

we both know,

you can't hurt me

anymore.

I am somebody,

but never

was anyone to you,

i'm letting go,

of all that i was to you,

of all that you wanted

me to be.

Scars don't heal,

but the bruises fade,

your hands will never

squeeze my neck again.

you can't hurt me,

anymore.....

I don't know how you can make...short poems like these which obviously have a long story behind straight and to the point yet have almost exactly the same effect as a short story or a chapter can. Nicely written

A very powerful piece. It was very well written and the word choice was great. There were some very slight grammar errors, but it adds a little extra character to the poem. Like someone was upset while writing it.
