Go ahead

Go ahead

A Poem by Jen

I can hear those mumbling words
underneath your bitter breath,
tearing me apart,
making me feel worthless,
go ahead,
tear apart my soul,
rip out everything iv'e ever lived for,
steal my dignity,
with your harsh words,
ignore me, isolate me,
neglect me,
badger me with your words,
go ahead,
tear apart my soul
rip out everything iv'e ever lived for,
you can steal my dignity,
but you'll never get me,
no you'll never get me.

Sometimes respect is a four letter word. It must be hurled at the ignorant just to be heard. I could see myself, looking at a careless soul from a prior life. They didn't get me either.

Really good poem. The honesty and and bluntness say it all. There is a confidence present here that the reader admires. Really liked it. The duality of being hurt and no letting yourself get hurt is really well achieved.
