Mother

Mother

A Poem by Jen

What have i ever done to you,
but love you?
I did not chose you,
you chose me.
why not make a life,
built from the ground,
with sturdy wood,
and pillars all around?,
instead you built
a false foundation,
on jealousy,
bitterness,
and ridicule.
One day,
you knew,
id come,
crumbling down.
I am not you,
though you tried
real hard to change that.
I've finally got my own wings.

Deep...I had an overbearing mother...I truly enjoyed the emotions. Heartfelt and riveting read.

Sounds like things turned out well in the end for you which is great. Excellent detail in this poem :)
