Awakening

Awakening

A Poem by Awakened Rose

I see lights ahead as my eyes try to force my curiosity shut.
Spots of colors remain as I blink away the dream.
Something in me screams excitement
But my instincts tell me to ride the waves

I can smell death from a mile away.
Everything in me says nothing can stay.
Surrender to my will, surrender to my grace
My remaining doors- stripped away

I feel black being painted on the walls of my eyes.
Covering the truth, revealing the lies.
My feet remain firm in the soil my hope has given
While my life is stripped away from the chains and the reason

I sense a sense other than the sixth.
One of mercy, one of bliss.
Whites and golds and rubies fall from my every word
The Queen of Strength, The Healer of Hurt

Life no longer what it was, or at least what it seemed
When my soul awoke in a dream, within a dream
