Red Love

Beloved,

This love has made roses grow from my heart;

Every thorn a memory of you.

Bring me to my knees at last,

If what you've sworn to me, untrue.

 

I've never known a love that would put agape to shame,

But our garden of truth takes the rightful reign.

 

Your sun it beams down, giving life to all I have known.

Water pours from my eyes, and nourishes all fate has been shown.

 

Vines run up and down my spine, reminding me of all I have given.

Stretching out into the depths of you, my soul drowning in sweet crimson.

 

So let me know or let me be,

For I will reawaken in a new destiny.

Because if this life you’re living is one where I am stranger;

Let my flowers run dry.

For I have known beauty, not even death can deny.
