I want to write a S****y Love Poem

I want to write a S****y Love Poem

A Poem by Jennifer Johnston
"

We've all felt this way.

"

I want to write a s****y love poem.

I want it to drip, sweet and syrup

so sugar stocked it rots your teeth.

And I want the teeth to drop from your jaw.

Because maybe then

I’d find a reason

in that blackened maw,

to love you less.

I want to write the poet’s words,

pardon you with Cupid’s arrow

and really I want to kill you dead.

Dead and deader…

so dead that only crows

will break your bones

and suck up all the marrow.

I’d be a simple corpse’s mistress,

and maybe then

I’d love you less.

I want to say the things I need,

in your bed, behind your ear,

I want to make you feel your worst,

but you touched me

and I came first.

If I wasn't such a horny mess,

maybe then

I could love you less.

I want you to know the hurt I know

the quick, the core, what lies below,

but I can no more tell the truth

than show the love I have to prove.

I cannot kill what makes me fly

I cannot save what makes me die.

I cannot rage inside your sight,

I cannot lie down to sleep at night.

I cannot hope to convalesce

I really wish I loved you less.

Though the rant and the feeling are so real, it's deliriously hilarious. I could not stop laughing. A favorite random read!

It is a amazing love poem. I like the real language and emotion. The ending was perfect.
"I cannot kill what makes me fly
I cannot save what makes me die.
I cannot rage inside your sight,
I cannot lie down to sleep at night.
I cannot hope to convalesce"
I like the above lines. They could lead me to create my own poem of love. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.

It made me laugh. Such a new twist to the old school love poems. My favourite lines would be:
"Because maybe then

I’d find a reason

in that blackened maw,

to love you less."

In my library! :)

Your very welcome. :-)
The humour is this is wonderful, poetry is such a great outlet for wishing your exes (or currents) dead.
The message still comes across strong however. Great poem. :)
