Flat

Flat

A Story by Jeni Reed

I slept on a flat floor with no walls like those around me.  This is how the complex was set up.  No one paid attention to anyone else, you knew this because you could clearly see them; so I guess I was paying attention to them.
One morning I woke up and my neighbor to my left was staring at me.  Then I realized that everyone was staring at me.  And soon, without warning they were coming onto my flat with their beautiful crystal blue eyes.  They saw my panic and told me to calm down, that it was okay.  I had been shot with an arrow and I was dying.  They were angels, always had been, watching over me.
