Does Anyone Else Care?

Does Anyone Else Care?

A Poem by Jen Garmala

Does anyone else care?
That this living, breathing, once thriving thing
Will die unnoticed
A death no one will ever remember
Do I alone care?

Will you watch and wait?
As my beloved friend withers away
Only memories
Fond memories comfort my breaking heart
Why must I suffer?

Why does it elude?
My ever struggling grasp to save it all
Everything I do
Seems to be a never-ending failure
Is it possible?

Can this all be done?
To save all that we once deemed inspiring
All fun and colors
Lost forever to a small and dumb world
Should I lose all hope?

What choice do I have?
I've been blocked at every turn and nothing
Seems to be working
The future of what I love is fading
Can this be the end?
