Raindrops Falling Down

Raindrops Falling Down

A Poem by Jen Garmala

Raindrops falling down

On the ground,

Onto green and brown,

Homeward bound,

Playing earth musics,

World's opus,

Universe phonics.

Its purpose,

In death to give life,

Flowers bloom

Everywhere; they're rife

By rain's doom.

Raindrops falling down

In showers

On city and town,

On towers,

On giants and ants.

Like magic

Springing up, come plants.

Most basic

Of life from a drop,

Water orb.

Soaking up nonstop,

We absorb.

Raindrops falling down

On my soul,

At sunrise, sundown

Makes me whole,

Makes the world feel new;

Clean and fresh,

Dirt and grime undo.

Water thresh,

Beat away the stain

Of our sins.

Running in earth's vein

Life begins.

Raindrops falling down,

Falling down.
