Perspective of Perception (lyrics)

Perspective of Perception (lyrics)

A Poem by Jene'e

You took the curtains

tore them into shreds

you said

it looked better in this

sanctuary

red light pours in

covering the floor

and your face

your hands

your fingertips

and you said

you know it was

time to go

when you're stuck

inside your head

every day

and your dreams are very

necessary

just to get you through the day

without

taking your own way out

I'm out

I've played this game for long enough

I'm taking my own way out

I'm out

and friend you don't know nothin' 'bout pain

I changed my name

I changed my face

right to the bone

my lips

my eyes

my soul

asleep all day

though

you think i'm awake

I'm so far gone

you won't find me

you're out

you've played this game for long enough

you're taking your own way out

you folded

your dreams weren't lasting long enough

my friend, I don't know nothin' 'bout pain

and you won't

take my words

no you won't

take my worth

when your dreams are failing

all understanding

you've been up and down this road before

my friend, you don't know nothin' 'bout pain

and friend, what you don't know about
