Ode to HairA Poem by JodelleA tribute sonnetBlack fibres pour a-top my glowing skin Each girl scowls at me with envy, I grin For theirs grow wild and fickle, out of shape my hair grows in a capable, neat state Luxurious and strands of flowing fun Up-do or tucked inside a tasty bun I'll tell my hair how and where to grow If not then I will tell it where to go It f***s me off when one style frizzes when thousands of frozen water pisses down and into my afro hair the slick and shine melts away- they stare don't stare, it was beautiful before
