Chapter 2

We were all sitting around our rooms talking to each other when the doctors came in to start doing their tests on us to see if we are able to leave this insane place. Joel you are up first please come with me. I stand and go with the doctor to the room he is doing the tests in. What kind of tests are you doing? Not bad tests. I know how you are with taking blood but we need a little sample of your guys blood. O okay… I close my eyes so i don’t have to watch the needle go into my arm. The doctor takes the blood. There all done with the blood sample Please follow me. I do as I am told and follow the Doctor. 

Seems like you guys are getting better at listening to us. I nod. Now Joel sit in the chair across from my desk please. I do. Okay Joel, I would like you to tell me the truth about everything. Huh? If you still hear the voices at night when you are trying to sleep. Oh no not really. I mean I still get nightmares but they are usually about death. Are you the one dying or is it someone you love? Usually me. Have you had dreams where you lose someone you love more than once? Y yes.Just one more thing Joel. Can you fill out this form it’s the same form you filled out the first day you showed up. I want to see how much your answers have changed. I nod and take the papers and I answer them and give it back to the doctor. Thank you.

The doctor walks you back to your room. Jenay, please come with me. J-Joel, do I have too? I nod. Jenay they are easy tests it’s alright. I hug you tightly. Jenay walks back with the doctor. Jenay I know you don’t like this but I’m going to have to take a little bit of blood. It won’t hurt okay? Bring Joel back in here, she has to calm me down after you take my blood please. The doctor nods and comes and gets me and I come and hold your hand. W-why didn’t you tell me they take my blood. I didn’t want you to freak out. Jenay breathes and the doctor puts the needle inside her arm. There all done. See it wasn’t hard Jenay. Jenay nods. I smile at you. W-what’s next? Follow me. Jenay does as she told. Alright now Jenay please go sit in the chair across from my desk. Jenay is done as she told. What do I have t-to do for this part? I just want you to be honest with me

What do you mean? I’m going to ask you some questions and all you have to do is be completely honest okay? O-okay. What are the questions? Why did Charlie take control of you? When I yelled his name a few days ago when I didn’t want you to find Joel. He came back. He was hurting her. So I yelled at him. I told him she doesn’t deserve any of this. So, instead of hurting her he hurt me. Oh alright. Next question. Did you and Joel talk to charlie a lot? I did. This was that was the most she talked to Charlie. I used to talk to him all the time. I know everything about him and his family. Alright. I only have one more thing you need to do. What’s that? We just need you to answer the same questions you did when you came in. Doctor? Yes. What happens if my answer don’t change. But my behavior has. Would I still be able to leave? Or would I have to stay longer? Possibly. Where is the form I fill out? He gives it to Jenay. Jenay fills out the papers and hands it back to the doctor. He takes you back to your room. Alexis you turn to get tested. She goes and does the tests. J-Joel. Yeah? A-are we finally gonna get out of here? And be a family again? Yes. We are. Jenay smiles and Alexis and the doctor walk back into our room. S so… what is the verdict. Some of the other doctors and I are gonna look over the test and we should get back to you in a day or so about if you all get to leave or stay here. All 3 of us nod. Doctor? Yes? Can you have Andi and Austin come see us. We would like to tell them how good we are doing. Since we are going to be living with them if we get to get out of here. The doctor nods. Thank you. Of course. Guys this may be it. We may get out of this place. We smile. Finally! The doctor walks back. Joel, Jenay, Alexis they are here to see you now. We all run out to see them

Jenay runs and jumps into Austin’s arm. We might get out soon. We are so happy. We have been waiting forever for this. Good. We have you guys rooms ready for when you guys get to come home. We smile. Yay! The doctor walks to all of us while we are talking. Good news everyone. We all look at him. You guys will be leaving to go home in a few days. We just need to pack up your rooms and get the papers for Austin and Andi to sign but within a few days you should be to go home. Yay!!! We should go home and get the rest of your stuff in your rooms. See you guys in a few days. We love you guys so much. We all say we love them too and Joel goes and gives Austin a hug. We get to go home! We get to go home! We get to go home! Jenay sings down the hallway as they walk to their rooms to get their stuff together. We are all laughing the whole time. We did it guys. We beat everything. We are doing better. Now let’s see if it will last outside this insane place. We all nod.

 A few days past and the doctors, Austin, and Andi walk back to our rooms to wake us up around four in the afternoon. Joel groans. Whatttt. It’s like four in the afternoon it’s time to come home. R really? Yes. I smile and get up kinda slowly. Jenay doesn’t even wake up through all the noise or anyone touching her trying to wake her up. I hit you on your back to wake you up. ‘M UP I’M UP. WHAT TIME IS IT? It’s 4:00. Did I sleep all day? I nod. So did I. Alexis walks in. Good morning sleepy heads. You’ve been sleeping a lot he past few days. oops. It’s better than no sleep. That’s true. Well, get up get your stuff. We are taking you home. We all get everything and go with them. W-wait. Before we go. I need to go say goodbye to someone really fast. okay.. Jenay runs off to a run only the doctors knew she was allowed to go too. We all wait. Jenay comes running back smiling. Okay, now we can go. I think I spent enough time here as it is. We all smile and run off with Austin and Andi.
