chapter 2

I woke up to soft shaking on my shoulders, i opened my eyes and grimaced at the sunlight coming through the window. when my eyes finally adjusted i realised where we were i sat bolt up right and glanced at Emily, she quickly turned her face away to hide her tears. 

The boot door slamming made me jump i opened the car door and keeping my back turned to Emily. what was i going to say? I couldn't say goodbye... i wouldn't say good bye i thought, i'd simply say ill see you soon...but soon was too long of a wait for me. I needed her, but she diddnt need me, she wanted me, but she did not need me she had Derek.

I felt a warm hand on my arm, i realised my eyes were closed, Derek looked at me with sympathy and understanding, but he didn't understand... no one understood . 

A while later we were standing in the queue for my ticket Uncle James kindly offered me the money for a first class ticket, but i protested, in didn't want a big fuss over everything.

finally i reached the fake, smiling lady at the counter. "hi how can i help you"? she asked in a sickly sweet tone." one ticket to Los Angeles please"                             "passport?" she asked i pulled it out of my back pocket and placed it on the counter. I paid for my ticket and placed my luggage on the conveyor belt and my hand luggage in the basket. I took of my shoes, smiled at Emily and Derek and stepped through the metal detectors. I grabbed my searched luggage and walked down the corridor towards my plane without even a glance back, no tears, no hug , no last second words and no goodbye...
