into the darkness

into the darkness i walk alone
no longer hesitant
but rather
striding with a purposeful step
i turn
with anticipation
hoping that i do
but dreading that i will
see you there
trying to pull me back
leave
please don’t follow
the hollows of my mind
echo a horror
you may never survive
and an ecstasy
you may never enjoy
you cannot understand
you cannot feel
you have to let me wander
these black caves alone
if i am meant to be
i will find my way back
but if i do fail to return
believe
we will meet again…
