regrets

regrets

A Poem by jmrs929

there are a thousand regrets for yesterday
and a million hopes for tomorrow
im watching through my mists of tears
wrapped in the pain and sorrow

watching you leave is a pain that cuts

deeper than any known healing
resounding through ever fiber and pour
til im left with nothing but feeling

i know now is time to spread your wings

and see where the wind may carry
but seeing you go circling ahead
just leaves my soul tired and weary

the whisper, the shout, the unspoken words

the wanting a touch that never arrives
the burning, the passion, the longing to hold
the craving, that love somehow survives

where do i go and what do i do

with you, no longer my love
i miss you, i want you, i need you my dear
for me you were sent from above

im sorry i hurt you and pushed you away

to this end with that i will live
but remember i am here with open arms
forever more to you, my love i will give
