THE LITLE ANT AND I

A Poem by jen -- JG

Saw the 10 word challenge with Tovli, and decided to write a poem using the same ten words - ant, shade, tree, tears, shaking, fall, imagine, wildly, umbrella, wandering

The Little Ant and I

Ah, little ant,

I can see you as you try

to slip past my naked toes.

Are you seeking shade because it is very hot today?

Can you sense the wind?

I am afraid there is a fine storm brewing.

Can you see the tree

Shaking wildly

above?

I see you falter a little now,

and feel my

tears gently fall

as I imaginethe fear you must feel

because of the impending storm.

Fear not,

brave little ant,

stop your wandering,

come, you are welcome

to share the shelter of my umbrella

until the rains have stopped.

Ah,

little ant

climb onto my shoulder,

and wait with me

under my huge umbrella

where we may both remain dry

until the storm passes

and

we go our separate ways.
