Tarnished StarlightA Poem by jen -- JGbeen there - seen that.................
TARNISHED STARLIGHT
If an overpowering longing Dictates indecent haste And kisses sweet as honey Leave bitter after taste
If trembling fingers reach to touch A lover, no longer there And anguish bites with razor teeth, Leaving pain, too great to bear.
If angry words tear you apart With bitterness unseen And loving, is not enough To heal the rift between
Then Tarnished starlight is bitter bright When seen through broken tear And silent shadows shape the night With silhouette --- unclear.
