TrickleA Poem by jen -- JGfor children -- about a cat had to earn his dinner.................
Trickle
Trickle was a ginger cat Who couldn’t catch a mouse. He loved to curl up on his mat Or sleep inside the house
One day his master told him "you are just a lazy cat and feeding you is quite a sin you are getting much too fat."
His words made Trickle very sad As he chased a bee in the dirt It stung him and he felt quite bad With all his feelings hurt.
"I’ll have to catch a mouse" he thought "but I really don’t know how, that’s something I wasn’t taught but I guess I must learn now."
At last he caught a small grey mouse And put it on his mat His master came out of the house And said " You clever cat!"
Now Trickle is a ginger cat who really is much thinner he loves to curl up on his mat when he is not hunting dinner.
