Death Tattoo

 

 

Cold ---- So cold

 

Heart pounds --

Sweat drips-

Fear

Quickens breath,

     Feet…

             Stumble.

 

Cold ---- So cold

 

 

Tremors

Erupt!

Spine frozen

Mind numbed.....

Sudden blackness,

Bulging eyes.......

     Unseeing

                Unseen.

 

Cold ---- So cold

 

 

Limbs, flail,

Twist, jerk,

To silent beat.

A gruesome

     Ghastly

                Tattoo

 

Cold ---- So cold

 

 

Macabre .

Horrifying; gruesome----

Dancing

Tattoo of death

Claims

Another victim

       by

          Hangman’s noose.

I read this because I saw "tattoo".
Excellent piece, in which you don't have to tell us what it is your talking about with Death Tattoo, the meaning speaks loudly enough on it's own.
Excellent job telling us exactly what it is, without being gruesome.

Pretty cool. I like that through out the entire verse, you never bluntly state what the "Death Tattoo" is. Makes the mind have to work a little more to imagine it for youself based only on the feelings portrayed in the poem.
