But Daddy DidA Poem by jen -- JGthe title says it all -------------------
But Daddy Did
No daddy, no Please daddy don’t I know it’s our secret And I promise not to tell. Please daddy – don’t.
But daddy did.
Please love me daddy I miss the cuddles so Please don’t Please don’t hurt me this way Don’t love my little sister more.
But daddy did
What’s that daddy What’s that you say? I want to go out with Bobby. I’m old enough to go out with him. You can’t lock me in, daddy.
But daddy did.
Please daddy, I’m sorry I never meant to tell, honest It sort of ---- just came out. Not again daddy, I said I was sorry Please -- daddy, don’t do that again.
But daddy did.
Our family lived a secret hell Mum found herself a boyfriend And wanted to get rid of daddy She tried all the ways she could But, we never guessed our mother knew.
But daddy did.
Mum called the police and charged him For defiling her dear daughters We had to testify in court Our pictures in the paper Daddy said he’d never go to jail.
But daddy did.
Years later he is on the outside A sad and broken man Wanting the love of his daughters Not understanding when we refused We thought he would never die
But daddy did.
