Secret Night ViolenceA Poem by jen -- JGThe title tells it allSecret Night Violence.
In her darkened room she whimpered afraid to let her sobs break free. Fearing her opening door and the shape of one she knew she should love, but who hurt her and filled her with fear.. Denying her love Destroying her trust.
The door opened he entered her room, she cowered in her bed, there was no place to hide. He knew she would not call for help, and if she did, no one would come. He bent over her cringing form one hand covered her mouth the other stripped her bare. A hard slap to her face stemmed her stiffled sobs. Again and again she was forced to do the things he liked.
Hours later he left her discarded in her crumpled bed, sobbing, afraid to scream except in her head.
So passed another night like all the rest she knew.
In the morning this ten year old covered her bruises and caught her bus to school.
