Break Free

Break Free

A Poem by jemaral
"

I dedicate this to a friend I wish her the wisdom to see the truth for what it is and the strenght to let go and move on.

"

Face down on the floor I am once again

The coldness of the ground stings my skin

I wish the cold can freeze all this pain

And end the suffering that is my sin

Even now I remember making the choice

I remember the bliss that came with  your touch

I recall the pleasure  of hearing your voice

My heart and soul desired it so much

I look back on the moments that we shared

I reminisce the joy that those days brought to me

I go back to the times I thought you cared

The possibility of it ending I could never see

On my back and on the  ground I look up to the sky

I wait for  the darkness of the night to envelop me

I close my eyes and can’t help but cry

Free from you my cage will I ever be

Question I ask in the midst of the darkness

How can something born from passion

nurtured by affection and tenderness

Eventually bring about so much pain and affliction

Does the love I seek lie beyond the pain

Will I pick up the pieces of my heart from the ground

Should I break free from the clutches of your chain

Do I break free and fly to where love can be found

Questions that shall always be unanswered

For the one who stands at the break of dawn

For the heart that will remain unwavered

I may never forget but I will stand and move on
