hope for hope

ive lost something and it can't be found

so i thought id retrace my steps

i think i last saw it 

before i started trying

because not trying and failing is one thing

but trying and failing is another

thats when i lost my hope

but losing hope is dangerous

thats how people die

because when hope is gone

what is left

but pain and sorrow 

and the belief 

that thats what life is

all i know is i have to find my hope

because if i have hope 

that hope exists

then i can stay alive
